Wedding Card: Aroras

A set of three red and gold cards in a gold folder within a cream envelope, screen printed. The paper chosen was red machine-made, with a slight grain. The pattern on flowers was printed using a gloss medium, and the gold was printed thereafter.

The envelope (cream with gold) and the folder containing the cards

The folder for the cards was thick gold card, with a slight sheen,
and a maroon 'Ganesha' printed for good fortune

The open folder with the three cards placed inside

The cards were identical in design, with variations in text content

The pattern was printed in gloss medium, and the matter in gold

Wedding Card: Rohini & Arjun

This card was done for one of my best friends's in-laws, who are Bengali, hence the 'kantha' pattern border. Simple screen printing in a single colour on handmade paper.

Wedding Card: Divya and Dhiraj

Divya chose the gold and silver paper to give a more dramatic feel, and also wanted me to incorporate the Kahlil Gibran quote that her parents had used on their wedding cards. The cards were screen printed in gold and maroon.

The first reception card was pale gold with a darker gold envelope.

I wanted to enhance the gold base without making it too
flashy, and so created a pattern in gold printing, to give it texture

Both cards essentially used the same pattern,
with a change of colour being the difference

The second card was silver pattern on silver paper, with green text

I used the watermark-style effect to make the metallic
paper of the cards look less flat and more elegant

Wedding Card: Nandita & Rahaab

This card was done for my friends. I traced the motif in the corner of the card, and on the sticker, from a pendant that the groom gave the bride when they first got together - I enjoy putting in such personal touches; it gives the card more meaning. The cards were screen printed in 3 colours on each side.

The front of the two cards, with the envelope in the background

The backs of the cards, printed with a gold motif
and the two-colour pendant design repeated in the centre
and on the sticker that holds the envelope closed
